I actually went on a high-end lip balm kick in 2018 and 2019, and I picked up a few brands; but, I've only been using one at a time so this one has been waiting for me to show it a little love (which I did recently when I was on vacation in Mexico recently!)
Well, damn this lip balm made me feel like I should have used it way earlier! It's such a light, gentle glossy formula that was so comfortable and so softening!
Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Balm in Flirt Me Coral ~ $49.00 CAN. A hybrid lipstick that combines nourishing balm care with glowing, sheer color for a hint of tint that enhances lip color.
I know packaging isn't everything; but, seriously when I cough up almost $50 on a lip balm, it better look like it when I pull it out of my purse. Also, it's got this little adorable little lip detail in the middle of the balm and it's so lovely.
I picked up shade #7 in Flirt Me Coral that is described as a peachy coral and the finish is described as a high shine finish. This also has a really fresh, fruity scent that YSL describes as pomegranate (I just got fruity and yummy - I love opening this!)
The Volupté Tint-in-Balm has a dual formula in the balm - this little lip-shaped heart that runs through the bullet is apricot butter and jojoba oil for nourishing and conditioning the lips and then the outer lip balm provides a sheer colour for the lips!
This is such a light, sheer wash of a peachy tint and it's really pretty - I also like that this formula is quite glossy (which makes it a little different than most tinted lip balms I have!). I thought the formula was so nice to wear and it was really hydrating and softening!
I recently went on vacation and used this day and night - my lips never looked or felt dry. The glossy finish wears off quickly, but I found the benefits were long lasting and I didn't need to reapply all the time. My lips still felt soft and nourished.
I think this swatch looks a little more pink than it is - it is a light peachy pink on the lips and it is a really easy colour to wear anytime! It's a really pretty finish!
I know this sound crazy to say I love this expensive lip balm, but I decided last year that if these are the products I wear on my lips, why not invest in them?! I'm really in love with this balm and formula - the scent and packaging just add to overall affect of using this!
And, while I like using high-end makeup products I don't always love spending this much. So, I have a little secret - PC Optimum points and Shoppers Drug Mart spend you points events. I get a lot of PC points as I basically exclusively shop at Superstore, so now that Shoppers has the same points whenever they have a spend your points event (cash in so many points, get extra points to spend for free - for example cash out $60 worth of points and get $100 worth of free products). So, that's how I buy some of my higher end items!
Do you have one type of product you tend to splurge on?!
